Adams Memorial Foundation

How do you create a fresh face for a founding father/family?

Son & Sons was approached by the congressional committee responsible for creating the new John Adams family monument in Washington DC. We jumped at the chance to help build a brand that felt both current and timeless for a founding family that helped shape our country.

One of the core ideas that this identity needed to portray was that the Adams Family was bigger than just John Adams it was also Abigail, John Quincy, Louisa and Charles. We built the brand around the idea that John Adams was not about John Adams. He lived a life of service to his family and America. We built a brand that enabled the memorial to not only celebrate the Adams’ but also be in service to our nation.

A Family Affair

The identity we developed uses the repetition of the Adams’ name to highlight the Adams legacy as not only one of related and accomplished individuals, but of a family and the passing down of ideals.

Monumental Practicality

Our team obsessed over the practical use of the Adams legacy. We set out to create an identity that was simple enough for anyone to execute but large enough to enduringly tie the legacy of this founding family to the history of our nation.
